Scientists/Scholars Prof. Dr. Christian Bettstetter Christian Bettstetter is professor and head of the Networked and Embedded Systems institute at the University of Klagenfurt. He is also scientific director and founder of Lakeside Labs GmbH, a research and innovation cluster on self-organizing networked systems. He studied electrical engineering and information technology at the Technische Universität München (TUM), receiving the Dipl.-Ing. degree in 1998. After a research stay at the University of Notre Dame, Christian joined the institute of communication networks at TUM, where he was a research and teaching staff member until 2003. His doctoral thesis on mobility modeling, connectivity, and adaptive clustering in wireless ad hoc networks was awarded the Dr.-Ing (summa cum laude) degree in 2004. Before becoming a professor, Christian was a senior researcher at DoCoMo Euro-Labs for two years. Dr. Alessandro Crismani Alessandro Crismani received the master degree in telecommunications engineering, from the University of Trieste, Italy, in 2009 (summa cum laude). From June 2009 to November 2009 he was with the Communications Research Group of the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, as a visiting student, and from January 2010 to December 2012 he was with the Telecommunication Group of the University of Trieste, where he worked towards his Ph.D. Since January 2013 he is with the Mobile Group at the Networked and Embedded Systems of the University of Klagenfurt as a researcher. Alessandro Crismani is a Student Member of IEEE. Dr. Udo Schilcher Udo Schilcher studied applied computing and mathematics at the University of Klagenfurt, where he received two Dipl.-Ing. degrees with distinction (2005, 2006). Since 2005, he has been research staff member at the Networked and Embedded Systems institute at the University of Klagenfurt. His main interests are interference and node distributions in wireless networks. His doctoral thesis on inhomogeneous node distributions and interference correlation in wireless networks has been awarded with a Dr. techn. degree in September 2011. He reveived a best paper award from the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society. Dr. Jorge F. Schmidt He received the B.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the Universidad Nacional del Sur (UNS), Bahía Blanca, Argentina, in 2005 and 2011, respectively. From 2012 to 2014, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Signal Theory and Communications Department at the University of Vigo, Spain. In 2014 he joined the Institute of Networked and Embedded Systems group at Alpen Adria Universitaet in Klagenfurt, Austria, where he is currently a Senior Researcher. His main research interests lie in the area of statistical signal processing and interference modeling and management for wireless communications systems. Mahin Atiq Mahin Atiq received her master's degree in information and communication technology from Sejong University, Seoul, South Korea in 2014. From Oct. 2012 to Jan. 2014. She had been part of Micro Networks and Embedded Systems Lab at Sejong University as a research assistant from Oct. 2012 to Jan. 2015. Since Feb. 2015 she is with Mobile systems group at Alpen Adria Universitaet in Klagenfurt, Austria. Her main research interests include interference modeling and management in wireless networks. |
